Plateau Systems is First Enterprise Learning Systems Management Vendor to Achieve SCORM 2004 Certification
Enables Company to Meet Stringent Standards Mandated by Enterprise Businesses and US Federal Agencies
Arlington, Va. • November 30, 2005 - Plateau Systems, a leading provider of software for developing, managing and optimizing organizational skills and talent, today announced that it is the first enterprise learning management systems (LMS) vendor to achieve Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) 2004 certification requirements. SCORM 2004 certification is mandated by many enterprise businesses and US Federal Government agencies. Achieving the certification demonstrates that Plateau's LMS solutions meets stringent, new content integration and reuse standards.
"SCORM 2004 is a level of content integration certification that is important for the industry as a whole. It should significantly improve the customer experience," said Paul Sparta, chairman and CEO of Plateau Systems. "We are pleased to be the first enterprise LMS vendor to achieve this certification – and we invite our competitors to do the same on the behalf of all e-Learning customers."
Employee productivity, flexibility and adaptability are top issues on CEO's agendas. To increase workforce productivity and maximize operations performance, organizations are accelerating their investments in learning and performance management. Certification in SCORM 2004 assures enterprise business and government learning managers that their investments in standards-based content will operate within their Plateau application suite.
Plateau continues to drive industry definition and support for SCORM 2004 certification to enable organizations to integrate content from multiple sources. The ability for Plateau's LMS to reuse e-learning content without proprietary format constraints is one of the chief benefits of adopting SCORM 2004 standardization. Standardizing the format for course accessibility and management also benefits instructional designers because they can focus their energies on course content, significantly increasing course effectiveness.
Additionally, Plateau will continue to support and remain certified with both AICC and SCORM 1.2 standards. This will enable Plateau customers to continue to use existing content libraries, employ new content published to these standards and strategically implement the SCORM 2004 standard within the organization's learning strategy. Achieving SCORM 2004 certification adds to Plateau's list of large enterprise business and Federal Government-specific support that includes certification in SCORM 1.2; workflows for the SF182 process; EHRI Data Reporting; several security certifications; interfaces with government HR, LCMS and financial systems and other capabilities requested by members of the Government Plateau Users' Group.
