Plateau Names Don Hernandez Vice President of EMEA Sales
Industry Veteran Brings Extensive EMEA Experience to Plateau's Global Expansion
Arlington, Va. • October 26, 2005 - Plateau Systems, a leading provider of software for developing, managing and optimizing organizational skills and talent, today announced that it has hired Don Hernandez as vice president of EMEA sales. Mr. Hernandez will be responsible for all sales and alliance-related activities in the EMEA region, including hiring regional staff, expanding channel partnerships and managing sales cycles from prospecting to closure. He will also establish Plateau's EMEA headquarters, scheduled to open in London before the end of the year.

Mr. Hernandez comes to Plateau from SumTotal Systems, where he held the position of vice president of central EMEA sales from 2000-2005. During his tenure with SumTotal, Mr. Hernandez recruited the company's direct and channel sales organizations in the central EMEA region and drove high-level access into accounts by building strategic alliance partnerships.
Prior to SumTotal, Mr. Hernandez was managing director of Rodo Media GmbH, a German reseller and implementation partner of various corporations offering push and agent technologies. Under his leadership, Rodo Media was named BackWeb's European "Partner of the Year" and earned a spot on Mannesmann Arcor's "Wall of Fame" for superior customer service. Prior to Rodo Media GmbH, Mr. Hernandez was managing director of STS Storage GmbH, a developer of third-party data storage products for Silicon Graphics computers where he drove revenues of over forty million U.S. dollars in five years and achieved "preferred partner" status with Silicon Graphics and Siemens.
Mr. Hernandez begins employment with Plateau immediately.

Global expansion is a top strategic initiative for Plateau, and this announcement is the latest sign of its global momentum. In 2005, the company signed EDUTECH, a reseller in the Middle East and India to join Scandinavian reseller LearningWell in the EMEA region. Earlier this month, Plateau announced a strategic Asia-based sale to Singapore Airlines, a competitive bid won in partnership with its Asia/Pac reseller, Impart. Plateau expects to make more global announcements in the coming weeks.
