Plateau Recognizes Exemplary Customers with Second Annual Customer Excellence Awards

T-Mobile, Wendy's and BC Hydro Honored at Insights Conference in Seattle

Arlington, Va. • August 31, 2005 - Plateau Systems, a leading provider of software for developing, managing and optimizing organizational skills and talent, today announced the winners of its 2005 Customer Excellence Awards. These awards honor customers who have leveraged Plateau's software to create outstanding value and meet business challenges. This year's winners include T-Mobile for Best Launch of a Learning Management Solution, Wendy's for Best Business Solution and BC Hydro for Best Overall Use of Plateau Learning and Performance Management.

Winners were announced last night at Plateau's Insights 2005 User Conference, in front of a packed ballroom at its gala celebration.

Summaries of the winning deployments follow:

T-Mobile – Best Launch

T-Mobile developed a strategic, multi-phased approach to introduce Plateau's learning management system (LMS) to its employees and extended business partners. In the first phase, T-Mobile educated its employees on the purpose and business benefits of administering and tracking training through an LMS. The company then walked employees through the LMS step by step, training users via online training and exams.

True to its culture of innovation, T-Mobile then trained its dealers, across 300 dealer locations, on how to use Plateau. Following its deployment of Plateau, training among new dealers increased from 40 to 100 percent.

Altogether, T-Mobile deployed Plateau's LMS to its upper management, record administrators and their supervisors, sales reps and managers, and distributors in under three months.

Wendy's – Best Business Solution

Wendy's business challenge was guaranteeing a consistent customer experience, regardless of store location. With more than 200,000 employees worldwide in an industry with annual turnover ranging between 180 and 200 percent, Wendy's faced a significant challenge.

The restaurant deployed the Plateau LMS to:

  • consolidate training on one platform to better manage change and retain employees
  • ensure global brand consistency by providing the ability to rapidly roll out training programs to support a constantly changing environment
  • provide a holistic view of its global workforce, including visibility to store-level employee training and certification

Wendy's use of Plateau has given it a holistic view of its workforce, ensuring that through consistent and timely training, customers receive the same high service and quality food regardless of restaurant location.

BC Hydro – Best Overall Use

Vancouver-based electric utility BC Hydro provides energy to over 94% of British Columbia's population, and is a best practice in learning and performance management.

In addition to using Plateau Learning, the company recently deployed Plateau Performance to continuously manage employee performance and develop competencies for all field service engineers. This enables employees to know exactly what is expected of them, determine where they have competency gaps and fill those gaps through professional development.
