Plateau Placed in Leader Quadrant in 2005 E-Learning Suites Magic Quadrant

Plateau Positioned Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

Arlington, Va. • August 18, 2005 - Plateau Systems, a leading provider of software for developing, managing and optimizing organizational skills and talent, today announced that it has been placed in the Leader Quadrant in the Gartner 2005 e-Learning Suites Magic Quadrant report (*). In Gartner's 2005 E-Learning Suites Magic Quadrant, the number of vendors was reduced from 24 to 18, and the number of the companies in the Leaders quadrant fell from seven to six.

Gartner, Inc.'s Magic Quadrant positions vendors based on their vision and ability to execute. Vendors in the leader quadrant are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership in the market. For completeness of vision, Gartner focused on comprehensive suites, platforms, modularity, interoperability with other e-learning modules, and integration with other business applications. Ability to execute was determined by vendor product capabilities, viability, installed base, geographic distribution capabilities, customer support and satisfaction, and management team.

"We believe Gartner's e-Learning Suites Magic Quadrant report confirms Plateau's market momentum," said Paul Sparta, chairman and CEO of Plateau Systems. "We provide best-in-class, integrated learning and performance management solutions to enable companies to increase workforce productivity and business performance. Our highly adaptable J2EE web-based architecture and strong professional services consistently result in unparalleled customer satisfaction. We expect our track record of customer success, a broader geographic presence, and expanded product capabilities to continue to drive growth ahead of the market."

In addition to its comprehensive e-learning suite—Plateau LMS, Team Content LCMS, and Plateau Virtual Learning System—Plateau announced expanded analytics and business intelligence as well as Plateau Performance in April 2005. Plateau Performance provides best-in-class performance management functionality integrated with Plateau Learning to enable organizations to continuously manage performance, develop capabilities, and optimize organization-wide talent.
