ARLINGTON, VA • May 20, 2004 - Plateau Systems, the leading provider of enterprise software that manages learning and knowledge readiness, today announced that Plateau Chief Technology Officer Ed Cohen is a featured speaker at the ASTD 2004 International Conference and Exposition. Cohen, an e-Learning industry leader and a member of the ASTD Brain Trust, will be presenting "The Leap From Training to Knowledge Readiness" on Wednesday, May 26 at 4 p.m. ASTD 2004 is one of the largest international conferences and trade shows devoted to workplace learning and performance. The conference is being held at the Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C. from May 23 to May 27.
Cohen's presentation will examine how Global 2000 corporations and large government agencies have used learning technology to more strategically manage the knowledge and expertise of their workforce. When used to its full effect, an enterprise Learning Management System can do much more than deliver online learning for corporations and governments. It also can be used as a tool to assess and determine in real time the people who are available to immediately respond to a given business need or crisis.
Cohen and Plateau Senior Vice President Brad Cooper will be available at Plateau's trade show booth, #526, over the course of the exhibition. During the exhibition, attendees who visit Plateau's booth can register to win an Apple iPod mini.
Additionally, Plateau Systems is a sponsor of the 1st Annual ASTD Charity Golf Tournament, being held at the University of Maryland Golf Course on Monday, May 24. Proceeds from the tournament, hosted by ASTD and WeLocalize, will go to Heads Up: A University Neighborhood Initiative.
