Military Health System Extends Contract with Booz Allen Hamilton and Plateau Systems to Provide HIPAA Training for 130,000 Health Care Providers

Plateau 4 Learning Management System (LMS) implemented as the software infrastructure to manage all Web-based and classroom HIPAA compliance training

ARLINGTON, VA June 30, 2003 Plateau Systems, the leading provider of enterprise learning management systems (LMS), announced today that its contract with Booz Allen Hamilton to support HIPAA compliance training for all Military Health System (Tricare) health providers has been extended after a successful implementation. Booz Allen Hamilton has been awarded a follow-on, multi-year contract that will support military medicine's compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The initial award is for $4,011,926 for the base year with three option years. The contract totals $14.1 million if all option years are utilized, and will be completed by May 2007.

Booz Allen is the prime on this contract, supported by Plateau, HIPAA Accelerator Inc., QuickCompliance, and Strategic Management Systems Inc. Booz Allen, Plateau and the other partners will operate as designated members of the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) HIPAA Integrated Product Team (IPT) community as a resource for HIPAA issues and systems.

Booz Allen will provide program and technical management support in the acquisition and administration of Web-based systems for HIPAA training, compliance and disclosure tracking. Booz Allen's business partners for this contract will provide the learning management system (Plateau) training content (Quick Compliance), compliance application (Strategic Management Systems Inc.) and disclosure tracking (HIPAA Accelerator).

The Plateau 4 Learning Management System (LMS) provides a single infrastructure for the Military Health System to manage all of its learning and knowledge activities.
