Plateau Systems and Centra Form Alliance to Integrate Learning Management System and Live e-Learning Platform

Out-of-the-Box Solution Provides Global 2000 Customers with Collaborative Distance Learning and Knowledge Process Automation

ARLINGTON, Va. January 3, 2002 - Plateau Systems, a provider of enterprise-class software that manages learning and knowledge processes for organizations, and Centra (NASDAQ:CTRA), a leading provider of live e-Learning and business collaboration solutions, today announced an alliance to deliver and manage live e-Learning and Web collaboration for global organizations.

Under the agreement, the Plateau 4 Learning Management System (LMS) will be integrated with CentraOne, giving customers an out-of-the-box platform that manages and delivers any type of learning or knowledge transfer over the Web - from synchronous classroom instruction to team collaborations. With organizations cutting back on employee travel, the integrated product will allow them to collaborate in real time on a single client via the Internet, regardless of location or time constraints.

Centra is a global leader in real-time Web collaboration products, providing more than 1.7 million users a self-service tool that maximizes employee productivity and budgets, shortens sales cycles, and allows organizations to effectively personalize and manage information. Plateau has developed the most comprehensive learning and knowledge process management systems in the industry for organizations such as Motorola University, Federal Express, Nestle USA and the U.S. Air Force.

By integrating CentraOne with the Plateau 4 LMS, organizations create a collaborative learning platform that drastically reduces travel for training and unifies global learning efforts on one system. While each division maintains ownership of their learning data, corporate information officers are able to comprehensively manage all of the historical and time-sensitive knowledge in an organization.

"The ability to collaborate over the Internet and manage all knowledge transfers on a unified system is paramount in today's business world," said Brad Cooper, Senior Vice President of Plateau. "This alliance allows organizations to derive immediate value from any type of learning event, and extend that value into the future with comprehensive knowledge management."

"Plateau Systems has proven it can develop broad learning and knowledge management programs that tie together all parts of an enterprise," said Alan May, Centra's vice president of Strategic Alliances. "Through this partnership, Centra and Plateau customers gain the ability to collaborate regardless of location, and manage that collaboration in a way that meets the organization's business objectives."
