Plateau and Interwise Announce Alliance to Develop, Market and Deploy Synchronous Learning Solutions
Integration of Plateau Learning Management System and Interwise Will Support All Open Standards to Ensure Interoperability for Faster Implementation
ARLINGTON, Va. and SANTA CLARA, Calif. October 2, 2001 Plateau Systems, a provider of software that manages learning and knowledge processes for organizations, and Interwise, a provider of live eLearning and collaborative communications software and services, today announced an alliance to deploy interactive distance learning solutions for Global 2000 customers. Collaborative distance learning provides a competitive advantage for worldwide corporations by delivering interactive online training to employees, customers and partners without requiring travel — helping organizations bring new products to market faster and greatly reducing the costs associated with training people across distances and divisions.
Under the agreement, Interwise will be integrated with Plateau 4 Learning Management System (LMS), allowing organizations to easily deliver, at low cost, dynamic synchronous eLearning to employees, customers, and partners. Plateau and Interwise will also collaborate to develop new customers and markets for their respective products and the new joint solution.
In addition, because the integrated offering will support all open industry standards, customers can run any Interwise content or other standards-based courseware with their Plateau 4 LMS. Both companies plan to certify the interoperability of their products on these standards.
Interwise provides one interface to enable customers to transmit voice, data and video over the Internet, giving organizations the ability to create live online experiences including classes, Webinars and focused tutoring. Plateau 4 LMS manages all aspects of learning and knowledge delivery. Its J2EE-based architecture provides unlimited scalability, flexibility and security. All of the Interwise courses and services can be delivered and managed on Plateau 4 to directly align learning and knowledge delivery with business objectives for an immediate return on investment.
